What these terms cover

These terms apply to every page, activity and account on GrammarDots (grammardots.com). By using the site you accept them. How personal data is handled is explained separately on the Privacy page.

Version and acceptance

This text is version 2026-10-v2 of the Terms of Use. You accept it when you open an account by ticking “I have read, understood and accept”. The version you accepted and the date are stored with your account.

The content and use rules in these terms also apply when you use the site without an account.

Who owns the content

The activity sets, questions, options and answers, explanations, dialogues and real-life scenes, game designs, illustrations and mascots, audio files, posts, and the activity library formed by selecting and arranging them belong to GrammarDots or are used by GrammarDots under licence, and are protected by intellectual property law.

The audio files were generated with an openly licensed speech model; the model itself is subject to its own licence. All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved.

What you may do freely

  • Play the activities on GrammarDots for your own learning, free of charge.
  • As a teacher, open an activity on GrammarDots in class and show it on screen, share its link with your students and suggest it as homework. Your students open the activity on GrammarDots.
  • Quote a short passage from a post, as far as your purpose needs, with "Source: GrammarDots (grammardots.com)" and a link.
  • Search engines may index the pages in line with robots.txt and show them with a short excerpt and a link.

What needs written permission

  • Uploading, copying or republishing the activities, questions, answers, explanations, illustrations or audio files on another website, app, platform, book or worksheet pack.
  • Collecting content from the site with bots, scrapers, scripts or browser extensions, copying the library as a whole or a substantial part of it, or getting around request limits, access controls or other technical measures.
  • Using the content to train, fine-tune or evaluate AI models, or to build datasets for them.
  • Selling or renting the content, or using it in a commercial product such as a course, app, publication, school or platform.
  • Framing the activities on another website, or presenting the GrammarDots name, logo or mascots as your own.

To ask for a licence for commercial use or any of the above, write from the Contact page.

Licence for invited teachers

A teacher who joins GrammarDots by invitation may use the activities in the library in lessons with their own students and set them as homework by link. This right is personal, cannot be passed on and lasts as long as the invitation does.

Exporting the raw content of the activities, uploading it elsewhere or giving it to others is not part of this licence. An activity a teacher prepares is not listed publicly until it is approved.

Account rules by age

  • When you open an account, you are asked for your full date of birth. It is stored encrypted; only you, your parent, your own teacher, Aslıgül and the site owner can see it.
  • Children under 13 cannot open their own account; such an account is deleted straight away. A parent applies for a child with their own account, and the child is never asked for an email address.
  • Learners aged 13 to 17 may open an account, but they become students only after their parent agrees through a link sent to the parent's email address.
  • Someone who opened an account before turning 18 accepts the terms again on their own behalf once they turn 18. They also decide whether their parent keeps seeing their student area.
  • Knowingly giving a wrong date of birth breaks these terms. To correct a date entered by mistake, write to your teacher.

For learners under 18

  • The name or details of anyone under 18 never appear on a public page, list or feed.
  • Only the learner, their parent, their own teacher, Aslıgül and the site owner see these details.
  • Students do not upload photos; they pick one of the site's mascots as their picture.
  • A parent may withdraw their consent and ask for the account to be deleted at any time by writing through the Contact page.

We recommend that parents read these terms together with their child.

Rules for teachers

  • A teacher account is opened by invitation. When joining, you are asked for your full name, phone number, the school you graduated from, your years of experience and how you heard about the site; these details must be correct.
  • A teacher sees only their own students' details and uses them only for teaching. They do not copy, export or share them.
  • Contact with students goes through the site's own tools. No student, and in particular no student under 18, is asked for personal contact details or a photo.
  • A teacher who uploads a profile photo uploads only a photo of themselves.
  • When the invitation ends, or after use that breaks these rules, a teacher's access may be closed. Student records stay with the site owner and the lead teacher.

Account rules

  • An account is free and personal. Do not share your sign-in details; the name and email address on the account must be correct.
  • Only a parent can apply for a child under 13 to become a student. Parent approval is required for a student aged 13 to 17.
  • Personal student links and student pages are for that student and their parents only and are not shared publicly.
  • Messages must not harass anyone, mislead, or contain other people's personal details.
  • You can delete your account at any time with the "Delete account" button on your My account page.

Use that breaks these terms may lead to restricted access or a closed account.

Lessons, prices, booking and payment are handled on Preply, and Preply's own terms apply to them.

Points, ranks and titles

  • Points, ranks and titles earned in activities and homework are there to make effort visible and to encourage learning.
  • Points have no monetary value. They cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for money or lessons.
  • Student rankings and titles are personal and never shown publicly. The teacher league is visible only inside the team.
  • Point rules may change. Points earned by cheating, automation or obvious misuse may be removed.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your My account page. Deleting it also deletes your sessions, your date of birth, your records of accepting the terms, your parent consent requests, your teacher profile and your photo.

A student record a teacher keeps for lessons is separate from the account. It is kept or deleted on the schedule given on the Privacy page.

Liability

The site is offered free of charge and prepared with care. Even so, nobody can promise that it will always work without interruption or errors.

To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for indirect loss arising from using the site. Liability for intent, gross negligence, and harm to a person's life, body or health is never limited.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction over disputes. If something goes wrong, please write through the Contact page first; most problems are solved that way.

Your consumer rights are preserved

The consumer-protection rules of the country where you live that cannot be waived by contract continue to apply despite these terms. As a consumer, you keep the right to go to the court where you live or to the competent consumer body.

If a clause of these terms is held invalid, the other clauses stay in force.

Reporting infringement

If you believe content on this site infringes your rights, or you have seen GrammarDots content used elsewhere without permission, write from the Contact page: choose the topic "Other" and start the subject with "Copyright notice:".

Include your name, the work concerned, the address of the page, a short description and a statement that your notice is accurate. Every notice is reviewed, and content found to infringe is removed.

Changes and accepting again

If the terms change, they get a new version number and this page is updated. Everyone with an account is asked to accept the new version at their next sign-in; to keep using your account, you need to accept it.

The dates on which you accepted earlier versions stay on record. You can send questions from the Contact page.
