How to play

  1. Type a five-letter English word and send it. You have six tries.
  2. After each guess the letters are marked: a letter in the right place, a letter that is in the word but in the wrong place, and a letter that is not in the word each look different.
  3. A letter that appears once in the word is marked only once. The on-screen keyboard also shows what you know about each letter.
  4. When the game ends you see the word's meaning in Turkish, its level and an English definition.

What the squares mean

  • P is in the right place: a filled teal square with a bar under the letter.

  • I is in the word but in the wrong place: a filled ochre square with a dot in the corner.

  • A pale square: these letters are not in the word.

The daily word and your streak

Everyone solves the same word on the same day. The day changes at midnight, Istanbul time, which is also the time in Famagusta.

Words come from levels A1, A2 and B1 in turn: a basic word one day, a slightly harder one the next.

Each day you win adds one to your streak. If you miss a day or do not find the word, the streak starts again.

When you share, only the coloured squares and the link go out; the word stays hidden, so your friends can solve it themselves.

Why it helps

A short exercise repeated every day makes words stick better than long, rare study sessions.

Guessing makes you think about which letters can go together in English, which is good practice for spelling and reading.

Reading the meaning and the definition after the game helps you learn the new word in context. For more practice, try the activities.
